Vote on August 2!

Absentee ballots for the August 2 Primary Election, will be mailed on 6/29. Once filled out, the ballot can be returned via the US Post Office, left in one of our drop boxes (located in our parking lot and our lobby), or returned in person during regular Hall hours. If you have not previously requested an absentee ballot and would like one, you can come by the Hall, fill out an application and pick up a ballot.

Your vote matters. Whether you are a global, national, or local thinker (or all of these), decisions you make in a midterm election year will have a daily impact on your life. For the 2022 Primary Election on August 2, you will be selecting candidates to be put forth in November for key state offices including Michigan Governor, U.S. Representative, State Senator, and State Representative. The important office of District 3 County Commissioner is also on the ballot. Nine Commissioners elected in Livingston County determine how the $168 million county budget is allocated. This year’s elections let you choose the voices that will strongly advocate for your local and state priorities.

The current 1.6459 mill levy that provides the entire funding for the Putnam Township Fire Department expires in 2022. On the August Primary ballot, the Department is asking for a new millage of 1.8959 for six years, which includes an increase of .25 mills ($25 on each $100,000 of taxable value), to allow for continued funding and operation.

Your election day polling location has changed! Precincts 2 and 3 previously voted in the Township Hall, but will now vote in the new Community/Senior Center on the north end of the building. Precincts 1 and 4, formerly at Arise Church, will vote in the  Township Hall at the south end of the building. Know your precinct number (it’s on your new Voter ID card sent in May), and follow the signs on election day. All registered voters are eligible for Absentee Ballots. Contact us at deputyclerk@putnamtwp.us, 734-878-3131, or stop by for a ballot application. Vote!
