Property tax payment information
Summer tax bills are mailed on July 1. Winter bills go out December 1. If you don’t receive your bill, please contact the Township Hall.

You can pay your taxes either in person, online, by automatic debit or by mail.

In person.
The Treasurer’s Office is open Mon. - Thurs. from 9 a.m. - noon & 1 - 5 p.m. We accept cash, check or credit card*.  Bring your entire tax bill into the Township Hall when making a payment and we will stamp the top portion paid and return it to you as your receipt. Please note that the Treasurer’s Office is closed on Fridays. If you come in when we are closed, you can put your tax payment in the drop box in the vestibule and a receipt will be mailed to you. Please do not put cash in the drop box.

Online.
Click Online Tax Payments (link in green box) to pay your taxes online. You’ll be directed to BS&A online, where you can make your payment. Click Current Tax Payments under Services , find you property by Name, Address or Parcel number. Click the button to pay your taxes, and then choose to pay by Credit/Debit card or by Electronic Check. There is a service charge (approximately 3%) to pay online with a credit card. The fee to pay by electronic check is $1.50. You will receive an email confirmation after making your payment.

Direct Bill Pay. Contact your financial institution directly to initiate a Bill Pay option.

By mail.
To avoid penalties, mail your check* early so it arrives at the Township before its due date. Payments are posted on the day they are received, rather than the date the envelope is postmarked.

Drop boxes.
For your convenience, we have two drop boxes located at the Township Hall. Tax payments can be dropped in either of these boxes. They are available 24 hours a day and are located on the driveway approach to our building and also in our vestibule. After-hour payments received in either box, on the due date, are posted as on-time payments. Please do not put cash in the drop boxes. We are happy to handle cash during our regular business hours.

We are no longer initiating ACH tax payments.

*A 3% service fee applies to all credit card payments. Make checks payable to Putnam Township and write your phone number and Property ID number on the check. Mail to Putnam Township, 3280 W. M-36, Pinckney Mi 48169. Checks are accepted as conditional payment. If our bank does not honor the check, any taxes are considered unpaid and subject to penalties and interest. A $25.00 is charged for all returned checks.
