SepticSmart Week is Sept. 18-22
SepticSmart Week is Sept. 18-22. Putnam Township encourages homeowners and community members to properly care for, and maintain, their septic systems. A majority of Putnam Township homes depend on septic systems to treat wastewater. Proper septic system maintenance protects public health, the environment, and saves a homeowner money by avoiding costly repairs. Resources and information are available on the state Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) SepticSmart website and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency SepticSmart website. We invite our residents to view a one-hour EGLE webinar, “Knowing Your Septic System—SepticSmart 2023,” on Sept. 18, which will be recorded. While this event is targeted at homeowners served by a septic system, all interested people are welcome to attend. Please take advantage of these valuable resources to ensure the health and safety of your family and our community.
